Stage Acting (beginning workshop)/ Adult

If you have always wanted to be involved in a community or professional theater, this class will help you launch on your dream! You will be introduced to the basic language of the stage - “stage direction and blocking”  as well as work on scenes from contemporary stage plays.  Each participant will get hands on working on their individual roles and leaning to understand the scene and the characters' motivations in a given circumstances.

Lights, Camera, Acting! age 7-12, 13-17

Would you like to see yourself in a movie? The next Hanna Montana  living in your house? This workshop is for anyone interested in finding out “do I have what it takes to succeed” in Film, TV and commercials.  During a 4-week course, students will learn how to break down a script and understand characters, practice the acting techniques and perform in front of the camera. Each student will be filmed doing actual commercial sides and acting scenes from well-known screen plays with full lighting, costumes and scene set up. Video will be reviewed in class as part of an instructive critic.

Commercial acting/ Adult

I know I can do that! Ever think “yeah, that looks like fun”, but how do I get that first shot at commercial acting? Let an experienced commercial actor show you how.  Commercial acting is where most actors receive their first professional experience and this class will focus on the most successful techniques for commercial acting. Through series of on camera exercises, students will develop confidence; learn how to use their voice and body, and develop ability to improvise in front of the camera. Video cameras and professional lights will be used during class time and each student will be filmed doing actual commercial sides.

TV/Film/Commercial Audition technique/ Adult

Getting the job “auditioning” can be a nerve racking experience. This class will teach you how to prepare for a successful audition. Students will be trained on how to act in front of the camera, use their body and voice, break down a script; as well as how to market yourself as an actor and get this confidence you need for successful auditioning.

Can You Improvise?/ Adult

Are you an actor, business professional, sales rep,  teacher or lawyer? Don't be surprised, but this class is for you! Improvisation is one of the most important skills every professional should have. No matter what you do in your life, improvisation will help you succeed even more! Through improvisational games and activities, you will develop creativity and imagination, improve your speech and  thinking processes, and gain a lot of confidence that will lead you to big accomplishments!

Musical Math/youth

Math and music have always been considered closely connected in many ways. Research shows that starting music lessons at a young age enhances math ability. One theory is that music strengthens the neural chords that transmit information between the two hemispheres of the brains. Musical Math is a unique program designed for 5-9 year old children which integrates music into the math curriculum while teaching note values and fractions, decimals and multiplication, division & subtraction, and much more! The program will help both music and math students to better understand music/math theory & learn different math concepts in a fun and creative atmosphere.

Russian Language and Culture (parents with children)

Would you like to get closer to your Russian roots, or maybe you have always been intrigued by Russia and the Russian language and culture? This is your chance to open the door to Russia, learning this beautiful language! This class will focus on basic phrases, pronunciation, as well as Russian traditional games, music and art activities. During the class you will create a mini-dictionary of words and phrases to use and master in the future.  Parents are welcome to sign up with their children to have double fun!

“Getting an agent”/All ages (6-12; 13-17; adults)

Have you ever asked yourself: How can I break into acting? Where do I find agents and how do I get my foot in the door? There are many doors open for acting opportunities, but you need to be well prepared before entering. This course will help actors develop strong acting skills needed to attract the interest of an agent. Students will learn the proper resume form, sharpen marketing skills, develop a career strategy, and get information on how to successfully find an agent locally, regionally and nationally.

TV Sitcom/Adult

Do your friends tell you that you are really funny, or maybe you want to learn how to make everyone laugh? You will have a lot of fun learning the acting techniques and performing in front of the camera. Class will work from contemporary TV sitcom scripts, learning how to make the word “funny”. Video cameras and professional lights will be used during class time and students will be filmed every week to monitor their progress.
