Minimum Requirements:

  1. Bachelor degree in performing arts or education

  2. 3-year experience working with young children

  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  4. Strong research skills

Internship opportunity

 

Grant Writer: 2 positions available

 NATURE OF THE POSITION: This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for interns to get a unique experience with a new international non-for-profit organization. This is a non-paid position and will serve as a part of a two-member ITA’s grant writing team. The successful applicant will work with the Executive Director on all aspects of the ITA’s development needs, including research and writing of successful grant applications, traveling to meetings and workshops, and networking with interesting people.  

 

 POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.      Work both independently and with the Executive Director to identify potential government and private funding sources for ITA programs and to write successful grant proposals.

2.     Conduct research in regard to the availability of Federal, State, Corporate, Foundation and Private Grant dollars consistent with ITA’s priorities as directed.

3.      Represent ITA at meetings, presentations and workshops as directed.

4.      Meet departmental and grant deadlines in a timely and consistent manner.

5.      Report directly to the Executive Director in all matters that affect the grant planning functions of the ITA

6.      Other duties as assigned.

 

 PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

1.      A completed Grant Writing course work towards a college degree.

2.      The ability to write clear, intelligent, and persuasive prose.

3.      The ability both to work efficiently and independently on multiple projects and to work in a team.

4.      The ability to travel occasionally on behalf of the ITA.

5.      Experience with word-processing and spreadsheet software preferred (MS WORD/EXCEL 2003).

6.      Ability to create accurate and realistic budgets for grant proposals/applications preferred.

 

 PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Bending at the waist; sitting for extended periods of time; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate computer keyboard; hearing and speaking to exchange information; seeing to read reports and data; lifting light objects.

 

 Fundraiser: 2 positions available

NATURE OF THE POSITION: This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for interns to get a unique experience with a new international non-for-profit organization.  The fundraiser intern will support a Vice President of Business Development in the production of all events and campaigns. The intern will participate in all planning meetings as well as in the development of all solicitation campaigns. This includes developing budgets for all aspects of a campaign, overseeing the campaign calendar of events and working on the preparation and printing of campaign materials. The intern will learn how to communicate with members of the media and work on special public events. In addition, the intern develops and maintains a database of various categories of donors, including major corporate and individual donors. The intern is responsible for communicating with donors, generating acknowledgements, plus recruiting, organizing and managing volunteers who help at events.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To assist the Development Director with planning and implementing a fundraising campaign
  2. To submit inquiry letters and/or full proposals to corporations
  3. Database development and maintenance
  4. To plan ITA’s annual fundraising event
  5. To assist in the staffing of a Development Committee
  6. Meet departmental deadlines in a timely and consistent manner.
  7. Report directly to the Executive Director in all matters
  8. Other duties as assigned.

  1. Interest and commitment to working for educational art organization

  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  3. Strong proficiency with computer programs

  4. Strong research skills and experience

  5. Excellent Organizational skills

  6. Self-motivation and ability to motivate and inspire others

  7. Ability to work independently

  8. Ability to work in a diverse working environment and with members of the community-at-large
