Theater/Dance for Youth and Teens
Musical Theater
– 5-8, 9-12, 13-16 yr olds
|
Explore being a “triple
threat” by acting, singing and dancing on stage! This class
is a great introduction to musical theater and ensemble
work. During a fun, high-energy class, young students will
work on voice development, acting exercises and a simple
dance routine. Both classic Broadway songs and hits from
popular children's musicals are used in this class to
provide children the exposure to all types of
age-appropriate music prominent in theater today. Parents
and friends are invited to join us at the last class for the
final performance! |
Show Dance
– 6-10, 12-15 yr olds
|
This class is perfect for your child if they would like to
combine their love of dancing and singing into one fun
session. Participants will learn to tell a story through a
song using dance movements and the use of props. Dancers
will learn to analyze songs by music, words, style, rhythm,
and movement. One song will be chosen for the performance at
the end. This is a great class for students to work on their
characterization and costumes, along with proper dance
technique and stage presence. Parents and friends are
invited to see our short performance at the end of the
session. |
Actors Take the Stage! –
6-10 yr olds
|
This class is designed for those who have always wanted to
act on stage. Young actors will bring their favorite stories
to life by theater improvisation and scene development.
Students will learn and develop important tools and skills
of an actor such as body, voice, and imagination. This will
be done through theater games, creative movement, and acting
exercises. The class will perform an improvisational play at
the end of the session in full costume. Invite your family
and friends for the show, and let's have fun!
