DRAMA CLASSES FOR THE YOUNG CHILDREN
Green Theater Improv (ages 4-7) Green Theater Improve is an exciting program for young children, where drama and storytelling, dress-up and creative games mixed together into one exciting world of fantasy! While learning theater improvisation and self-conduct, little actors will develop confidence, creative thinking, memory, and communication skills. Young actors will help a storyteller to create their own unique story, and then perform it using "green" props they made during the session.
Storytelling Journey for young actors (ages 4-7) Explore acting though storytelling! This fun class is a great introduction to the magic of theatre. The young actors explore acting through Fairy tales and their own stories, creative games and exercises, music and movement. The class will focus on development of verbal and physical expression skills and improvisation. This is a wonderful class to build the younger actors' self esteem by helping them to trust their own unique imagination. Extensive use of custom props will get children even more excited to act out their favorite stories
Let’s Pretend (ages 4-7) Improvisation is one of the most unique skills that all people must have! It forces us to think “on the feet”, stimulates imagination, thinking abilities and reaction. For an actor improvisation is the most important skill as it strengthens acting choices and stage presence. Children have natural ability to act and react honestly as they use their imagination and truly believe in their "made up" character. This class will give young actors an opportunity to develop their improvisational and speaking skills and gain self-confidence necessary to act out on stage. The class will act out an improvisational story at the end of the session.
Stage Adventures (ages 4-7) Young actors will bring their favorite stories to life through theater improvisation. While exploring a story, students develop skills in using the tools of an actor: body, voice and imagination. Through theater games, creative movement, music, observation exercises and original scene development students explore the stage. The class will perform an improvisational play at the end of the session.
Imagining who you are... (ages 4-7) Does your child like to pretend to be a different person, animal, or an alien? Does he like to be a "VIP" on the stage? This is a great time to provide him with the opportunity to do that! This program is a great introductory drama experience that allows children develop speaking skills and creative expression through the use of monologues of their favorite characters. Monologues will be provided for each student and can be also used as audition pieces for your next stage adventure! New games and activities will be added in each class to help children gain confidence while having loads of fun!
